| The NYC4D users group was a lot of fun while it lasted and I am sure we all appreciate NiCE for letting us use their facilities for so long. Unfortunately finding a new facility proved very difficult and moreover the limited scope of the group saw mostly the same few faces every week. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but I think we all have a broad interest in 3D in general and want to interact with more 3D artists in the New York vicinity and learn about other programs too. | ||||||
| There is a new 3D user's group in town called the mac3dny, a non profit organization for 3d artists/animators on the Mac, that will hold monthly meetings starting February 28th. Therefore it is my pleasure to recommend to all C4Der's that they please give this new group a chance. We can still get together after the meeting and talk more about Cinema if we want, and have the opportunity to share with others using a variety of 3D software.
So, with all that in mind, the next meeting of the New York C4D SIG will directly follow the mac3dny meeting, at a nearby coffee shop to be decided. :) The mac3dny meeting is February 28th at 6:30 pm at the Apple Marketing Center Citicorp Building @ 53rd street and Park on the 29th floor. It is required that you pre register if you want to attend. This month's meeting is very cool and will feature demonstrations of the new Mac Maya as well as the new Electric Image Universe, so I encourage all to attend. To register go here: |

| Final piece of news: The NY After Effects SIG is currently in hiatus as we look for a new place to hold meetings and decide who the new hosts will be.
