This animation shows the zoom mechanism moving in and out. The refraction magnification of the front lenses makes it appear that the zoom mechanism and its glass is growing and shrinking. The more the mechanism recedes, the larger it appears. It took me quite a while to get the lenses to magnify in a more or less identical way to the real lens without serious distortion. Next task is to build and animate the iris.
